ALBANY, GA (WALB) - College recruiting is getting more high tech thanks to the internet.
Former Thomas County Central great Joe Burns knows all about recruiting.
Burns, who later played at Georgia Tech, now works with the National Collegiate Scouting Association.
He has been speaking to high school students across south Georgia about what to do to get noticed by college recruiters.
Burns big message to students is to start taking care of your grades from the first day you start high school.
It is a message Burns knows personally.
Joe Burns said. "You can relay to them because I cannot do it over. I went through high school. I can't go back and change anything. I want to tell them all the things I wish I would do differently. Tell it to them. So, hopefully they will do it differently."
Joe Burns played five years for the Buffalo Bills in the NFL.
