One Lee County gateway is getting greener.

Workers are planting more than six thousand trees and shrubs on U.S. 19 medians. Three miles of the busy highway will be improved. It's part of a beautification project, paid for with a grant from the Department of Transportation. Some of the selected greenery you will see--crepe myrtle, wax myrtle, juniper and jasmine.
