ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A new traffic light signals the end of the first phase of work to ease traffic congestion on Nottingham Way.

The light at the entrance to Kohl's, Mellow Mushroom, and the movie theatre parking lot was turned on Tuesday morning. It's been flashing for the last several weeks to make drivers aware of it.

In the last three years, there have been 56 crashes in this block of Nottingham Way leading to Ledo Road. Forty-four of those crashes were rear end collisions.
