Thomas baseball grabs top seed for AII tourney

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - The Thomas University baseball team has been rewards for a 30 win season.

The Night Hawks are the top seed for the first ever Associations of Independent Institutions Baseball Championships in Victoria, Texas.

The tournament consists of four independent schools and the winner earns a bid to the NAIA national tournament.

The Night Hawks know they can win that title after finishing the regular season with 19 wins in their final 23 games.

Mike Lee said. "We have had some guys step up and really have some tremendous seasons. We have other guys who play their role. They realized what they need to do. They work well together."

Thomas University plays LSU-Alexandria on Thursday at four o'clock in the AII tournament.

Thomas University is hosting the AII softball tournament that begins also on Thursday.
