ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Young people interested in the legal field got a crash course in why our laws and the people who uphold them are so important. Attorneys Bob Langstaff, Sr. and Bo Dorough, along with Georgia Court of Appeals Judge Herbert Phipps, addressed the Darton Paralegal Student Association, and other students today.

The men discussed how the law and its interpretation are ever evolving, and that countries around the globe are envious of the United States constitution which allows everyone equal protection under the law.  Judge Phipps said, "If you don't protect those rights for people who are unpopular and for people who may have done things that we don't approve of, then pretty soon there will be nobody left to protect the rights for those of us who are innocent."

Monday's presentation was part of Law Day at Darton. This year, Law Day Is celebrating the life of Abraham Lincoln who fought for equality and liberty for all people.
