Three home invasions in Albany and Dougherty County

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -Police are investigating three violent home invasion armed robberies in Albany and Dougherty County in the last two days.

Two victims were tied up and beaten.

The descriptions in at least two of the home invasions are similar.

And tonight  police say they're trying to determine if the robberies were pulled by the same gang.

About 2AM Monday morning two armed men kicked in the door at 2208 Stuart Avenue Apartment B, and robbed Cary Cooper and Nikesha Williams. Police say Cooper was beaten and tied up. Two flat screen TV's and a car were stolen. Cooper was treated at the scene by EMS, but Williams was not hurt.

This happened just hours after another home invasion in the 2500 Block of Crescent Drive. Kassie Ross said three black men with their faces covered came up to her while she was on her front porch, forced her inside the home, and then stole a piggy bank and her cell phone. Ross said today that she was shaken up, but not hurt, and was moving out of the home.

Saturday night about midnight just blocks away in the 1300 block of Miller Street, 36 year old Armondez Kegler says three men with shirts over their faces, each armed with a gun, jumped him as he was walking up to his house.

Dougherty County Police Captain Jimmy Sexton said "They forced him into the house. Tied him up, and then took him back to a bedroom where they put him in a closet."

Kegler was hit in the head with a gun during the robbery, and was treated by EMS at his house. The three robbers took jewelry and his wallet. Now Police try to determine if it was the same three men in any or all of these home invasions.

Sexton said "there are some similarities, but we are not willing to say at this point if they are the same."

Police warn that if you see suspicious people around your home when you drive up, don't stop, drive away and call Police.

In the Stuart Avenue robbery, Police are looking for Cooper's stolen car, a green 1998 Buick Park Avenue with Georgia Tag B-C-W 1389.

If you have any information about any of these robberies, call CRIME STOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
