(Fort Valley-AP) -- Fort Valley football coach Kent Schoolfield said today he was being fired for insubordination and discourteous behavior. The letter from athletic director Gwendolyn Reeves says a search committee will be formed to seek Schoolfield's replacement.
Schoolfield has been Fort Valley coach for six seasons. He had a 7-and-4 record overall and a 6-and-2 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record this season. Twice in his tenure with the Wildcats his team reached the N-C-Double-A Division II playoffs and won one S-I-A-C title.
