
Valdosta, GA (WALB) - Brandon Decker went 4 for 4 with 5 rbis as the Valdosta State baseball team beat West Florida 10-0 Sunday at Billy Grant Field.
Decker hit a two run homerun in the 3rd inning earning his 76th and 77th rbis on the season, breaking JoJo Blaha's single season record set in 1985.
Valdosta State closes out its 2009 regular season Tuesday when it travels to Milledgeville, Ga. to face No. 14 Georgia College. The game is a make-up of a rain out from earlier in the season and will start at 4:00.
Valdosta State finished 11-7 in the GSC and will be a 3 seed in the conference tournament.
Meanwhile, the Valdosta State softball team picked up a pair of wins over West Florida on Sunday in Valdosta. The Blazers won game one 10-8 and game two 7-3.
The 7th ranked Lady Blazers improved to 49-6 overall and 23-2 in the GSC.
Valdosta State will have a top seed in the conference tournament and will conclude the regular season playing host to Albany State in a doubleheader at 5 p.m. Monday.
