ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The South Georgia Wildcats are off to the team's best start since moving to Albany.
South Georgia won in convincing fashion Saturday night with an 83-54 decision over Peoria.
The Wildcats led by 7 at halftime and head coach Rodney Blackshear says that the team was much more focused in the 2nd half.
"We came out after halftime and talked about stepping it up a little and taking it to another level. The defense did their part and the offense did as well" said Blackshear.
Veteran wide reciever Antwone Savage had 3 touchdowns and says this is one of the best AF2 teams he has been a part of.
"I've played on good teams but I've got to say this is one of the better teams I've played on. To go out and score every time you get the ball is good" said Savage.
South Georgia will look to improve to 6-1 next Saturday when it visits Tennessee Valley. Kick off is at 8:30.
