TIFTON, GA (WALB) - The driver involved in an accident that killed a Tifton Police Officer remains hospitalized Saturday night.

Shawn McCaffity is in fair condition at Tift Regional Medical Center.

McCaffity was transported there after he pulled out of a shopping plaza and collided with Tifton Police Officer Terry Adams at the intersection of Tift Avenue and Potts Road.

Adams was heading South on Tift Avenue to assist a resource officer with a call. Police say Adams did have his motorcycle lights and sirens on at the time.

The wreck is still under investigation.
