Worth Co. parents get involved

November 23, 2002

Worth County- Dozens of parents attended a school board community forum designed to increase parental involvement in the school system.

Researchers from Stone Mountain talked about ways parents can help their children by participating in the education process.

"We realize that the more we include our parents in the schools, and the better we communicate, than a better job we can do of reaching our students as well as our parents," says Worth County School Superintendent Donald Slate.

While this forum was designed for parents of middle school children, Slate says he hopes to have a similar program for elementary and high schoolers.
