The tournament brings 17 pro players from around the world to south Georgia for a weekend of tennis and evening socials.
The relaxed atmosphere keeps bringing the players and fans and has won the event the prestigious United States Tennis Association's National Service Award.
The tournament has also raised more than a million dollars during its 33 year run for several charities including the Mitchell Service Center and local boys clubs.
Tournament founder Eddie Williamson says the money raised from this event is even more important to these organizations during these tough economic times.
Eddie Williamson said. "Our center has been cut here a third of the budget. Which is about 300,000. Which is very, very serious."
The Mitchell County Pro Tennis Invitational also has a junior clinic Friday and ladies clinic and "Beat the Pro" tournament on Saturday.Feedback
