COLUMBUS, GA (WALB) - The Albany State Lady Rams softball team took out their frustrations of an upset loss on LeMoyne-Owen.
The top seed Lady Rams beat LeMoyne-Owen 18-0 in five innings in an elimination game at the SIAC softball tournament at the South Commons Complex in Columbus.
The win came hours after the top seeded Lady Rams were upset by Clark Atlanta 6-4.
Albany State will play Claflin on Friday morning in another elimination game.
The tournament got off to a good start with Albany State infielder Deanna Birdsong named the SIAC softball player of the year.
Birdsong, pitcher Sasha Reece, catcher Kandis Tate, first base Kira Johnson and shortstop Ta"Shelya Bynum were all named to the SIAC first team and outfielder Macy Mager was a second team selection.
