Albany- Albany State University and the Prison and Jail Project sponsored a forum for prisoners' families and community organizations to discuss key issues affecting prisoners. Event sponsors say prisoners often do not receive proper medical or mental health care, and they have no one to serve as advocates for them.
The group plans to send a transcript of Friday's forum to the Department of corrections, so that their ideas can be considered to help the prisoners.
