VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - So many people showed up at a job fair in Valdosta Thursday that some of them were turned away.

Wild Adventures is looking to hire 100 people for the summer season.

More than 400 people showed up to apply Thursday, many of them waiting in the heat for hours.

Most positions were filled within the first three hours of the job fair that was scheduled to last five hours.

Wild Adventures is still hiring for aquatics positions such as life guarding.

"We are looking to hire a highly qualified applicant this year," said Wendi Burke, Human Resources Director. "We would love to have anyone come down and apply. We offer great benefits as well for seasonal employees."

"It's hard because I've won awards for my work at school, and I thought I would be able to find a job easily, and I haven't. I decided to come here today," said Karah-Leigh Hancock.
