ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
The South Georgia Wildcats are 4-1 and just beat the Tri Cities Fever by 50 points. The roster doesn't really need much bolstering but the Wildcats aren't about to turn away talented players.
Defensive back and reciever Ivory McCann has been assigned to the Wildcats.
Mcann was named to the AF2 defensive all iron man last season but is most recognized in the league for his special teams play.
He spent the past two seasons playing for Corpus Cristi and was one of the league leaders in kick off returns.
Head coach Rodney Blackshear says fans should expect to see McCann returning kick offs on Saturday night.
"He will definitely get a chance to get in there and be a pair of fresh legs so to speak in there. He's done an outstanding job the last two years in the AF2 returning kicks and I think he'll be a great addition to the special teams" said Blackshear.
McCann played at Texas Tech and during his freshman season Blackshear was on the Red Raider coaching staff.
"I feel like I'm home I feel like I'm comfortable. I feel I can be a part of this team and make things happen" said McCann.
The Wildcats host the Peoria Pirates Saturday night kick off is at 7:30 from the Albany Civic Center.
