Teachers and parents have new resources to help kids deal with major issues such as bullying, depression, and obesity. Now kids and educators have the power to make a difference. Officials with Phoebe's Network of Trust highlighted those resources at a special luncheon Wednesday.More >>
ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Help comes for those need in Tift County when the Food Bank's mobile pantry made a stop in the area.
United Way volunteers joined the Mell Baptist Association Tuesday to help the Food Bank of Southwest Georgia distribute more than 500 boxes of USDA commodities.
The Mell Baptist association is made up of 30 Southern Baptist Churches around Tift County.
And the United Way say this could not have been possible without all the volunteers involved.
"A lot of people are hurting," said United Way Board Member Shirene Daniell. "A lot of people have had damage because of the flooding. Just the economy is effecting a lot of people. And because of the generosity of people, we are able to help people."
