ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Six people will be added to the roster of Albany's sports hall of fame. Monday,  Mayor Willie Adams signed a proclamation adding Gordy Gruhl... Derrick Moore... Cecil Hambone Hamilton... Robert Creel... Bud Shemwell... and Terry James Allen.

Allen's two brothers and an uncle are also hall of famers. She is best known for playing softball and later coaching different sports.  She said, "I got into coaching also. I started coaching Middle school basketball, did high school softball for six years at Brookwood High school in Gwinnett County, went state three out of those six years."

A ceremony will be held Monday night at the Albany Civic Center honoring this year's inductees. More than 100 people have been inducted into the Hall of Fame since it started in 1987.
