ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The storm clean up continued Monday in the Indian Creek subdivision on Lockett Station Road in Dougherty County.
Fifteen inches of rain in the last couple of weeks caused a small amount of sewage to mix with storm water in drainage ditches. Monday Public Works crews used a vacuum to clean up the remaining waste and treated some of the ditches with sand and lime.
Public Works explained because the neighborhood typically holds a high level of ground water, the heavy rains complicated the problem. Public works is looking for a solution to the problem.
