ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Nearly ten years ago Ken Veilands built the Darton soccer program from the ground up. Almost a decade later the program is one of the top junior colleges in the country.
Darton held it's first ever Alumni game Saturday. A total of 30 former Darton players from the mens and womens teams reunited for a couple of friendly games. The alumni took on the current Cavalier teams.
Veilands says it is great to see so many faces from the past and think about how far the Darton program has come.
"It's fun to see them all come back and celebrate with each other, a lot of them haven't seen each other in years. It's kind of neat, it's just a fun environment" said Veilands.
On two occasions the Cavaliers have finished National Runner up. Once in 2005 and most recently in 2008.
