ALBANY, GA (WALB) - His family says without the transplant, Wayne Cowart may never have known his ten grandchildren.

In 1999, Cowart shared with WALB what it meant to have that second chance at life. He encouraged others to be organ donors and to support transplant recipients.

His wife Brenda said they shared countless wonderful times after his procedure 20-years ago.

She hopes others will consider what organ donation can mean.

"Somewhere there's a mother who lost a 19-year-old son in December of '89 and she had enough love in her heart that she have her son, and he was a total organ donor, and there were a lot of lives saved because of this person and because of the love of that mother," said Brenda Cowart.

Visitation will be held tonight for Cowart from 6:00 to 8:00 at Matthews Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at ten o'clock Saturday at First Baptist Church of Albany.
