ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Magistrate Judge rules Coroner Emma Quimbley did nothing wrong in handling the personal effects of a deceased Albany woman.

The woman's sister, Martha Baker, accused Quimbley of stealing jewelry from her mother's body, after Betty English was found dead in her Ownes Avenue home May 30th, 2007.

Quimbley says the jewelry was handed over to other family members.

The situation prompted the coroner to change the way they handle personal effects. Quimbley says the Albany Police Department will now catalogue all personal items so allegations can be avoided in the future.
