ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The success of the 2009 basketball season at Darton hasn't gone unnoticed. Some of the best talent from across South Georgia will be joining the Cavalier program.
Five players signed scholarships with Darton Thursday at the Cavalier Complex. Signing with the Cavaliers were Zakia Dawson of Bainbridge, D'Arcy Williams of Lowndes, Westover's Brittany Gilbert, and Terrell County products Abril Smith and Shalia Jester. Head Coach Laura Blackwell says this class can do it all.
"Offense, defense, we've got some excellent ball handling players, we've got some height that I'm really excited about" said Blackwell.
Darton went unbeaten in region play in the 2009 regular season.
