ALBANY, GA (WALB) - In a disturbing case of animal cruelty in East Albany, someone killed 11 cats and a dog. The cats were found dead in the yard of the house at 2519 Cherokee Drive.

A neighbor's Chihuahua also died. The neighbor tells us that the cats apparently ate chicken wings that had poision on them.

His dog ate some too, then returned home and died.

"She goes out about bthree times a day, and I guess she kind of got into some of the meat, or whatever they put back there," said Jack Harrell. "It was all over the ground, and they had  put some rat poison or something on it. I don't really know what it is."

Police have crime scene tape up at the house and are taking photos and investigating this as a crime.
