GSU baseball reaping a big crop of South Georgia players

November 19, 2002

Cook high senior Kyle Goff has joined an elite group today by signing a letter of intent to play baseball for Georgia Southern University.

A four year starter for the Hornets,  Goff is one of four left handed pitchers to sign with the Eagles during the early signing period.

In his first three years at Cook, Goff has tallied 308 strikeouts and boasts a stellar 1.05 earned run average.

Goff is now the sixth player from South Georgia to sign with Georgia Southern during the N.C.A.A.'s early signing period.

The others to sign are Luke Gordon of Ttift County, Ware County's Josh Lairsey, Lowndes High's Brandon Ponder, Cairo's Bryan Gainous, and Clinch County pitcher Rhett Barber.
