ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Javon Dawson is leaving Crisp County High School and heading for the Beach. The Basketball standout signed a scholarship to play at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Florida.
The 6 foot 6 center says he felt right at home the first time he visited the school.
"When I went on a visit I got to spend some time with the guys and I got along with everybody like I wasn't new like I always been there so" said Dawson.
Javon is looking forward to the competition of college basketball.
"I've been wanting to play against bigger and better guys and this is my chance to do it so I'm ready for it."
In his senior season with Crisp County Dawson averaged 14 points and 9 rebounds a game and was a first team all region selection in region 1 AAA.
