ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Some scary moments Saturday morning for many South Georgians as severe weather ripped through the area.

We have a look at some of the damage Saturday in Parrott, where one woman narrowly escaped her trailer when a tornado came through Terrell County.

A double wide mobile home in Parrot was all but blown away early in the morning.

"We had a small tornado come through here it got a few houses, and so far nobody was hurt," said Cpt. Mark Davis, Terrell County Fire Dept.

One woman was inside when she and all of her belongs were scattered across the lawn.

"We got that double wide, there's nothing but the floor left," said Davis.

Luckily she survived, and so did Katie and David Edmiston.

"I've had WALB pulled up to watch it and then we lost power," said Katie Edmiston.

"The way I knew when there was a tornado warning here," said David Edmiston, Homeowner.

They took it seriously, running to the hallway just as the sheds in the back yard were ripped apart.

"Right when we went towards the hallway, power went out and she hit the floor with the animals," David Edmiston, Homeowner.

"We put the pillows over our heads, and you heard glass breaking and you started smelling pine trees, we have large pecan trees, barns I don't know how old just gone," said David Edmiston.

A few of homes in Parrott still remain without power. Georgia Power crews are working to restore power in the area.
