The second ranked Valdosta State Blazers will get a rare shot at redemption this Saturday as they play host to the Catawba Indians in the first round of the Division II playoffs.
The Blazers (11-0) clinched the top seed from the South Region by claiming their second consecutive perfect regular season and third straight Gulf South Conference title. Catawba (8-2) is the fourth seed in the region, but is no stranger to the Blazers. The Indians handed the Blazers their lone defeat last season, a 37-34 overtime loss, in the quarterfinals of the Division II playoffs.
Valdosta State and Catawba will kickoff at 1pm at Cleveland Field in Valdosta.
