PLAINS - Plains gets an early gift for its Christmas celebration, a half million Christmas lights. A crew working for the Arkansas family was in Plains this week hanging the lights. Jennings Osborne had to take his display down in Little Rock, because of neighbor's complaints, so he started looking for someplace else to put them. The lights have been on display at Disney World and Graceland, and now through a meeting with the former First Family they are coming to Plains.
"We want to catch a kids attention, I imagine a person going through and saying woo!"Bryant Harris, Osborne Employee said.
"Lot of residents have come by office and called me at home," Audra Jenningswith the Plains Better Hometown office said. "We're excited we can't wait until it's turned on."
The Plains lighting ceremony is tenatively scheduled for Sunday December 1st at 6:15 p.m. You can also find out more about the Osborne lighting displays on a Dateline special airing on WALB December 15th.
