Blood Challenge final results

November 15, 2002

Albany -- The Bulldogs whip the Tigers in the Second Annual Georgia-Auburn Blood Drive Challenge. But will it have an impact on the South's Oldest College Football Rivalry contest Saturday in Auburn?

Several Bulldog fans were giving blood at lunch today, the final day of the challenge to see whether Auburn or Georgia fans would donate more blood to the American Red Cross. Georgia easily won the challenge, 171 to 47 over Auburn's fans, but the real winner was the Red Cross.

Patsy McMath of the American Red Cross said that the Georgia Auburn blood challenge was a great success for the community.

The Blood Center says they will use these donations for the beginning of their holiday build up, but more is needed. The Georgia-Auburn football game kickoffs Saturday at 3:30 at Jordan Hare Stadium.
