ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A false imprisonment lawsuit filed against former District Attorney Ken Hodges has been dismissed in federal court.

Former Dougherty County assistant police chief Woody Hart filed the multi-million dollar lawsuit against Hodges in 2003.

After Hart was released from federal prison on bribery and perjury convictions, Hodges ordered him to complete a state prison sentence.

Hart said that violated his plea agreement.

Judge Louis Sands dismissed the suit, saying that Georgia law prohibits a citizen for suing a district attorney for doing his job, unless there is negligence or malice.
