ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Moultrie man who jumped into a creek, and a young angler drowned in separate tragedies this weekend.

29-year old Ricky Ramirez jumped into the Okapilco Creek on Highway 37 Saturday afternoon.   Police say Ramirez was walking by the creek when the wind blew his hat into the water.

Ramirez jumped in after it and when he started drowning, a friend jumped in to save him.

He was pulled from the water and taken to a hospital where he died Sunday night. His death is ruled accidental.

We now know the name of the little boy who drowned in Lake Blackshear Saturday.

Five year old Kenneth Phillips Junior was fishing off a dock with his father and grandfather on Flintside Drive when he disappeared around 2:00 Saturday.

His body was found about three hours later.
