ALBANY, GA (WALB) - South Georgia Wildcats coach Rodney Blackshear made it official right after Saturday's win over Florida when Blackshear said Darnell Kennedy would be his starting quarterback for this week's game at Oklahoma City.
The AF2 rookie showed he is quickly adapting to the arena game.
Kennedy threw six touchdown passes and ran for two more as the Wildcats scored touchdowns on their first eight possessions.
They ran out the clock on the ninth.
Darnell Kennedy says he is feeling more comfortable with the indoor game but knows the Wildcats powerful offense will face a very good Oklahoma City defense.
Darnell Kennedy said. "They gave up 29 points and in arena football that is like shutting a team out. We have to go out there and focus. go out there and execute our plays like we have in practice and hopefully we will come out on top."
South Georgia Wildcats are on the road Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at Oklahoma City.
The Wildcats are back at home next Saturday against Tennessee Valley.
