ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The South Georgia Wildcats and Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz are in two different conferences.

The teams are very familiar with each other heading into Saturday night's game in Oklahoma.

Wildcats head coach Rodney Blackshear played for Yard Dawgz head coach Sparky McEwen when Blackshear played for Grand Rapids.

Blackshear's quarterback last season in Lubbock was Robert Kent who is now the starter in Oklahoma City.

Wildcats linebacker Kinny Spotwood was a teammate of Kent and Spotwood now lives in nearby Tulsa.

He is excited that he will get the chance to play in front of his family and friends on Saturday.

Kinny Spotwood said. "It is going to be great. A lot of my friends are going to be there at the game. a lot of my family members have not gotten to see me play this year. Everyone is going to come out and see me. So, hopefully we will do great."

The Wildcats released LB-WR Robert Kilow on Wednesday.

Head coach Rodney Blackshear says Kilow asked to be released after playing in Saturday's game against Florida.
