VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -  A murder suspect is in jail, charged with gunning down a Lakeland man last week.

Investigators told us today that 24-year-old Darryl Bernard Scott, Junior was arrested at his Lakeland home Friday night.

 They say he shot 22-year-old Robert Croft Thursday night on Talley Avenue, but they won't talk about a motive.

Scott is charged with malice murder, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and a drug charge. The GBI says other charges may follow.

Scott is in the Lowndes County Jail.
