LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL (WALB) - Bainbridge native David Ross is living a childhood dream in playing for the Atlanta Braves.

The Braves signed Ross over the winter to be the backup to all-star Brian McCann.

Ross was born in Bainbridge but grew up in Tallahassee.

He still lives there and during the winter worked out with Leesburg's Buster Posey.

Helping Posey preparing for his first big league camp with the Giants.

Drafted by the Dodgers, Ross has played modeled a few uniforms for six major league organizations.

Ross understands and is looking forward to his role with the Braves.

David Ross said. "I have been a backup before in my career. I know the role. My spot is to help him (Brian McCann) out in whatever he needs, day off or something like that. I will just cheer for him when he is up there if you know what I mean."

David Ross played in two College World Series for two different teams.

Ross played at Auburn when the Tigers went to Omaha in 1997 and he was back in 1998 as a member of the Florida Gators.
