ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty County's EMS director and one of his employees receive big honors. Monday, County Commissioners recognized Director Bobby Tripp and Paramedic Tammye Atkinson.

Tripp was recently named Director of the Year for Region 8 which serves 27 counties in Southwest Georgia. Atkinson is the first person to receive the EMT C-award for the region given for service to children by an EMT.
