Inmate broke out of the Early County Jail

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A dangerous inmate broke out of the Early County Jail.

Investigators think he may have intended to go after a woman he's accused of raping.

About 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, Tremaine Davis escaped through a window in a room where he was being booked on charges of rape, assault, kidnapping, and cruelty to a child.

Authorities searched for a couple of hours and found him near the home of the woman he's accused of attacking.

He broke into a mobile home and was hiding in a closet.

Davis also now faces felony escape and burglary charges.
