Antics of Albany woman's children soon to be published

By Jennifer Emert - bio | email

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Author Deirdre O'Sullivan has written a children's book about her four children who are often left in the care of their older, bossy cousin.

The book is called Cousin Caleigh's Cartoons and Other Stories.

It's a collection of four short stories of how the children try to undermine their cousin out of her babysitting job and how their cousin manages to outwit them every time. O'Sullivan says the stories also have a life lesson.

"Kaliis has this thing that, he thinks that boys are smarter than girls, but in the end he learns to accept his female cousin's differences, and to accept that everybody's basically the same and we just have to get to know people," said O'Sullivan.

O'Sullivan says she's already started on a second children's book and recently completed a book of poetry and a novel called If Thy Right Eye Offends Thee.

Her first book will hit shelves May ninth and is already on sale on PublishAmerica's website.
