Rain changing weekend sporting event schedules

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  The rain this weekend is forcing colleges, high schools and one south Georgia race track to adjust their schedules.

In high school baseball, Deerfield-Windsor's game with Tattnall Square on Friday night has been canceled.

The Knights next game is at home Monday at 6:00 p.m. against Citizens Christian.

Lee County's game with Upson-Lee has been postponed.

The game will be played Monday at 5:55 p.m. in Leesburg.

Lee County athletic director Rob Williams says soccer games with Thomasville on Friday have also been postponed.

Deerfield-Windsor's soccer match at Central Fellowship in Macon has been canceled.

The Lady Knights play at Brookwood Tuesday in Thomasville.

The Valdosta State softball team will not be traveling to Dahlonega this weekend after the North Georgia Tournament was canceled.

The 7th ranked Lady Blazers will host Flagler Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in Valdosta.

Georgia Southwestern has several changes to their athletic schedules.

The GSW baseball team series with Armstrong Atlantic will start Sunday at 2:00 p.m. with a doubleheader and the third game is Monday at 1:00 p.m. in Americus.

The GSW softball team's doubleheader at Brewton-Parker for Friday has been canceled and will not be re-scheduled.

The Lady Canes doubleheader on Saturday at Armstrong Atlantic has been moved to next Thursday.

The GSW tennis teams have moved their matches with Augusta State to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The USCS Outlaw Sprint Car Race at Cordele's Watermelon Speedway has been moved to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The ASA Late Model Series Race at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil is still schedule to race on Saturday.

If weather does not permit racing Saturday night, the event will move to Sunday afternoon.

Bill Elliott's son Chase is scheduled to make his debut in the ASA Late Model Series and NASCAR drivers Landon Cassill and John Wes Townley are also scheduled to racing at SGMP.

The Georgia State Golf Association has suspended Friday's play at the Georgia Four-Ball Championship at the Kinderlou Forest and Valdosta Country Club Courses in Valdosta.

The tournament will be cut to 36 holes and the first round is scheduled to resume Saturday morning.

Saturday's spring football game at Albany State has been cancelled. There will not be a make up date.

Albany State baseball cancelled Saturday's double header  with Lane College. ASU and Lane will play a double header on Sunday begining at 2:00.

Saturday's softball game between Albany State and Paine has been cancelled. No make up date has been scheduled.

The Benson track relays at Hugh Mills Stadium have been cancelled. No make up has been scheduled.

Darton and ABAC cancelled Saturday's baseball double header. The schools will try to make up the games Sunday and Monday.
