ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Tuesday, they sold baked goods in front of the government center to passers-by hoping to raise a thousand dollars for the March of Dimes.

"March of Dimes is for the babies," said Recreation and Parks Director Suzanne Davis.  "Their main goal is for premature infants and I had a premature infant, so it's near and dear to my heart and we support them and obviously with parks and recreation, we deal with children everyday and we want to make sure we can have children for years to come who can take part in our programs."

March of Dimes is one of only two city-approved fundraisers departments are allowed to participate in during the year.
