School board joins lobby effort

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Dougherty County school board makes a move they hope will bring more federal stimulus money into the county.

Tuesday, board members voted to give the city of Albany $10,000 to go toward federal and state lobbying efforts the city already has in place.

The lobbyists will work to push through projects for the city and for educational efforts for the school system.

The County has also been approached to see if they want to contribute money to have the lobbying firms help push forward their projects.
