Two shot, suspect in custody in Tifton

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Investigators there continue to look for a motive in a late night shooting that left two men wounded, and landed a Tifton man in jail.

Just before 11:00 Tuesday night, police were called out to 1621 North Park Avenue in reference to shots fired.

Minutes later they learned the victims, Thomas Newsome and Delvon Brave had been admitted to Tift Regional Medical Center with gunshot wounds to the chest.

Detectives questioned 47-year-old Frank Bell, who lived at the address, about the shooting. He was placed under arrest after confessing to the crime.

"When confronted with that physical evidence. He did tell me that and confessed to me that he had shot, and laid the story out consistent with that physical evidence," said Tifton Police Det. Lee Dunston.

Bell is currently being held in the Tift County jail charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

One of the victims, Thomas Newsome is listed in good condition. The investigation into this shooting is ongoing.
