ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Police are investigating two assaults reported by men waiting on city buses.

The latest happened Monday morning at 5:30.

38-year old Jerry Carter said a man pulled a handgun on him at this bus stop at South Van Buren Street at West Gordon.

Carter said he ran and escaped.

He said the gunman was black, 6-feet 4-inches tall, 190 pounds and in his mid-20's.

Before dawn Friday 59-year old William Askew was shot in the head while walking to the bus stop in the 400 block of West Fifth Avenue.

Askew ran to Phoebe Putney Hospital for help.

Albany Police say they are still trying to determine if the two attacks are related.
