Reflections of King

November 9, 2002

Albany- In 1969, King became the first black to run for Governor of Georgia. His wife Carol says he knew he wouldn't win, but he felt that by running he could help mobilize African-Americans.

Albany Civil rights worker, J.T. Johnson, says King is a role model to many, and blazed a wonderful trail for others to follow. In the early seventies, King opened what became the largest black law firM South of Atlanta, King, Phipps and Associates. C.B. King died in 1988 at the age of sixty-four.
