The Albany High Indians overcame four fumbles to beat Turner County 30-20 Thursday night at Hugh Mills Stadium.
After Albany High fumbled the opening kickoff, Turner County's Arthur Weaver scored the game's first touchdown on a 20-yard run.
The Indians answered right back with quarterback Ricardo Salisbury setting up Albany High's first touchdown with a 56 yard run to the Rebel eight yard line.
It took four plays before McKenzie Bassette crossed the goal on a two yard run. The Tribe missed the extra point.
The Indians got the lead on the first play of the second quarter when Qwantrell Sanders broke free from the line of scrimmage and raced 34 yards for a touchdown to put Albany High in front 13-7.
A fumbled punt return set up Arthur Weaver for a 26 yard touchdown run that tied the game at 13.
The Indians though recovered a Turner County fumbled just before halftime and and drove it in with Wendell Solomon socring on a two-yard run to give the Indians a 19-13 halftime lead.
Ricardo Salisbury gave the Indians some breathing room on a short touchdown run in the second half as Albany High wins its third straight game 30-20.
The Indians are now 5-4 overall and 3-3 in Region 1-AA. Albany High only needs to beat winless Terrell County in its final game game to clinch a playoff berth for a second straight year.
