The Georgia basketball team will open its season without their top rebounder from last season.
The N.C.A.A. has turned down forward Chris Daniels request to have his one game suspension overturned.
The former Monroe High star has been suspended for one game after he played in an unapproved summer game here in Albany back in July.
As a sophomore, Chris Daniels averaged 11 points and 8 rebounds a game as Georgia won their first ever Southeastern Conference Eastern Division title and advanced to the second round of the N.C.A.A. basketball tournament.
Georgia will open the 2002-03 season on November 15tha against Texas in the A.T. T Wireless Classic at New York City's Madison Square Garden.
