ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Police Department says that 59-year-old William Askew was shot in the head near Tift Park in Albany around 4:00AM.
Askew was able to tell police that a black man apparoched him near the bus stop, and asked him for the time, and where the location of the Rescue Mission.
That's when the suspect shot him from behind.
Askew ran to the emergency room at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The suspect is described as a dark skinned black male, 5'11 to 6'0 feet tall, about 200 pounds, with a stocky build.
He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black or blue pants, black shoes, and black stocking cap.
