Chapparals lasso Jets in NJCAA tournament

HUTCHINSON, KS (WALB) -   It is still winter on the calendar but Midland Community College was as hot as an Americus street in July.

The Chapparals shoot 68% from the field to beat South Georgia Tech 95-73 in the NJCAA quarterfinals.

Antonio Bell led the Jets in scoring with 24 points.

Midland advances to the NJCAA semifinals.

South Georgia Tech drops to the consolation bracket.

The Jets can still finish as high as fifth in the nation.

South Georgia Tech plays Garden City C.C. on Friday.
