Norman Park woman wins $50,000 in Jumbo Bucks Classic

Press release from the Georgia Lottery

ATLANTA - A Norman Park press operator has stamped a lottery win just days before her birthday. Teresa Wilson, who will celebrate her 40th birthday March 27, won a $50,000 top prize playing the Georgia Lottery instant game Jumbo Bucks Classic.

She stopped at One Stop #0031, 4254 U.S. Highway 319 N. in Norman Park, for a soda and purchased the ticket.

Wilson waited until she returned home to scratch the ticket.

"I ran through the house screaming," she said. "I told my daughter, and she thought I was joking."

Wilson has four adult children and four grandchildren. With her winnings, she intends to make home improvements, pay bills and travel to Las Vegas for her birthday.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $10.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program. More than 1.1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 940,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
